____________________________
During the time from January 2007 to December 2010, I had the opportunity to work in several state agencies in the Kaluga Region for orphans and children left without parental care. More than 1400 children have been able to get to know me, befriend me and receive the most precious gift in life, which is salvation through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Now I feel responsible for the souls of these children who face the biggest challenges in their lives. I consider it my duty to be with these children and to give them the spiritual and material support they need by developing their personal relationship with God.
I am willing to give my time and expertise to help the orphans in their need. My wife is my assistant in this ministry, and my kids have grown up in this ministry. They have become special friends to and an inspiration for many orphans. My family has served as a model of a Christian family and a picture of hope for these children to live for.
For further ministry to orphans, we need prayer and financial support. We need people who are willing to bear with us this burden.
"When you reap your harvest in the field and forget a sheaf in the field, then do not go back and get it. Leave it for the stranger, the orphan and the widow, that the Lord thy God may bless you in all the work of your hands" (Deuteronomy 24:19).
Presently, I will be working full time in a Government Orphan camp. This is a unique opportunity for me to help these children in a personal way. These children come from orphanages, boarding schools and from bad families. Much of my time is also spent in mentoring, discipling and encouraging older teens who are no longer in the orphanage. Without consistent monthly support as a missionary, I will not be able to continue in this work. I am asking for God to provide regular monthly support so I can minister to these children full time.
MINISTRY STRATEGY 1. To take care of orphans and to give special attention to their needs.
2. Developing programs for junior and secondary school age.
3. Participate in the adaptation of children to an independent life after leaving the orphanage.
4. Combine them into groups to create a favorable environment of communication and mutual exchange of experiences on adapting to modern life and find God's family.
If orphans need God’s love and I’m ready to bring this love to them. …………… need father’s love and I’m ready... …………… need brother’s love and I’m ready... …………… need friend’s love and I’m ready...
With love in Christ,
Igor Klishchenko.
Igor’s biography and testimony… In 1991 I accepted Jesus Christ in my heart as my Lord and Savior. The message about Salvation came to me from two American missionaries. God began guiding and changing me. During the last 16 years there has been a great deal of testimony of God’s love for me. If I told you everything it would be a book or maybe two. But so far I’m not a writer, I’m rather a composer, a little of a singer, an organizer, a little bit of a businessman, a worship leader, a member of our children’s service, a son, a brother, a husband and a dad. But all those mentioned qualities and gifts can’t be valuable if they are not supported by real gratitude and love for the creator of all that exist: our God, who sacrificed his only son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins, for the One who always guides us through the Holy Spirit.
From the first days of the foundation of the church in Kaluga I have been on the ministry team. That is where I met my wife, Yelena. Together we were setting up the children’s ministry. She was a teacher of children’s church, and I being the worship leader helped her in this service. Soon we got married and we had a son, Daniel, and a year and a half later we had a daughter, Alina. We underwent many ordeals, but we overcame everything and stood our ground thanks to God and to our faith in Him. We are living for God, and that’s why we are happy!
One day we went to Moscow for a musical performance. My wife recited poems and I played my songs with a music group. After the concert a woman who worked in an orphanage came up to me. She showed me a picture of the children and asked me to come to their orphanage. I promised to pray for that opportunity. Since then that picture has been in our family picture album and my heart has been in prayer for those children.
Several years ago I asked God for the opportunity to visit the orphanages. God gave me that chance and opened the door to work in state institutions where I got the unique experience of working with orphans, day and night. I believe that God is with me in this ministry. One more of my prayers has been answered and I thank God for that! The children in the orphanages have become my family. Please begin praying for my ministry to orphans in the Kaluga Region in Russia.
